Google Docs extend support to new formats

Google doc is an online service provided by search engine giant Google for word, spreadsheet, PowerPoint presentation and that to with all functionalities that your office supports. The great part is that all these services are provided to you free of cost. You can create documents online edit them with ease and share them with any one. A Google doc is revamped product that was created by merging two most popular Google products that were used before the creation of Google docs. These two online Google products were Writely and Google Spreadsheets which were merged in to one product called Google docs in 2005. It provides you freedom off assessing you documents any where and in any part of world.
Google is known for its innovation and cutting edge technology. With changing time Google doc have also changed to serve its million of users world over in a much better way. Google docs have now become even more powerful with additional support to 12 new formats. This is like a feast for people form Google’s side. This launch comes as a commitment from Google’s side to serve people in best possible way. The 12 new formats that Google doc will support from now are:-

• Microsoft Excel (.XLS and .XLSX)
• Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 / 2010 (.PPTX)
• Apple Pages (.PAGES)
• Adobe Illustrator (.AI)
• Adobe Photoshop (.PSD)
• Autodesk AutoCad (.DXF)
• Scalable Vector Graphics (.SVG)
• PostScript (.EPS, .PS)
• TrueType (.TTF)
• XML Paper Specification (.XPS)

This is not the end there are many more things that Google has planned for Google docs but will be introduced in a phase and planned manner. Google knows very well that how to make life happy of people in the world of web.

Google Search: block websites you don’t like


Update to Google Search now lets logged-in users block sites they don’t like


Google Search results can now be tailored to an individual user’s preferences. The website has introduced the option to block sites from future results, and thereby shape future ones.
